Media for Development International seeks to promote development through communication, by providing socially conscious programming to Tanzania and Africa at large. We produce film, video, television, radio serials and music, in Tanzania, for Tanzania, by Tanzanians.

MFDITZ works closely with development agencies, schools, hospitals, faith based organizations, the government and other institutions by providing them with comprehensive and engaging educational tools to use in the field.

Our multiple award-winning films, including Consequences, Neria, More Time, Everyone’s Child, Yellow Card and Chumo, are among the most widely seen and used films across Africa.

Fimbo ya Baba is the story of Amina, a young Swahili girl, is forced by her greedy father to marry a rich, HIV-positive old man. This Tanzanian film was shot with an entirely local crew in the remote area of Pangani.

We are also adding the award-winning Kirikou and The Sorceress to the catalog. This is the story of a little boy who, from birth begins to try to save his village from the spell of an evil sorceress.
