Media for Development International seeks to promote development through communication, by providing socially conscious programming to Tanzania and Africa at large. We produce film, video, television, radio serials and music, in Tanzania, for Tanzania, by Tanzanians.
MFDITZ works closely with development agencies, schools, hospitals, faith based organizations, the government and other institutions by providing them with comprehensive and engaging educational tools to use in the field.
Our multiple award-winning films, including Consequences, Neria, More Time, Everyone’s Child, Yellow Card and Chumo, are among the most widely seen and used films across Africa.
MFDI has just completed its second set of Wahapahapa comics. These colorful books look at the stories of Dula, a member of the Wahapahapa Band, who is battling a secret addiction, and Monica and Mainda, the mother and daughter duo struggling to communicate.
Accompanying the comics are community resource kits developed by our team of behavior change experts and writers. With audio enhancement clips, facilitation booklet and the Mseto Wahapahapa DVD, the resource kits are perfect audio-visual tools for partner organizations to use in their grassroots HIV/AIDS work.
