A Silence to be Broken
Lured to the big city by the promise of work, Juanita was just 14 when she found herself trapped into prostitution. This film explores the difficulties of eradicating the illegal, but highly lucrative sexual exploitation of young girls in Mexico.

Indaia
One in four babies in Brazil are born to teenagers. Many young mothers face an uncertain future of poverty, ignorance and an often volatile family life. A nineteen year old Indaia once lived on the streets, pregnant and addicted to drugs. Now, with information, healthcare and skills, she’s turned her life around.
Mending Broken Pieces
In Jamaica, 12% of 15 to 19 year olds are on their second and third pregnancies. As young mothers, their future prospects are bleak. But one organization is helping pregnant teens and young mothers to continue their studies and look after their babies.

The Sky is the Limit
Before the civil war in Sierra Leone, one in four girls attended school- today, it’s one in two. If more people had been educated maybe the conflict wouldn’t have happened, says Fatima, a former sex slave who returned to school as an adult.
Two Sides of a Coin
This film shows that girls are often not valued within their families and this leads to a vicious cycle of abuse and vulnerability in their adult lives. Now teenagers have a new role model- Olympic hopeful Christal Skeete, who, with the support of her family succeeded in both sport and school.
We Can Change
Five thousand Fijians are thought to be infected with HIV but, because of the strong taboo against speaking against sex, these people go undiagnosed. Apikali braved the shame to tell Fiji that she and her husband only learned their status after their child had died. As a result, more people are finding out about HIV/AIDS and getting tested.
Workers on the Line
Globalization has hit the Western Cape’s textile industry hard. Over 100,000 textile workers, mainly black women, have been laid off in the past five years. One of them, Rochelle Julies tells the story of her struggle to feed her family.
