Wahapahapa Radio Serial Drama

Wahapahapa is an exciting and entertaining weekly radio serial drama airing on Radio Free Africa (RFA) and Radio One every Monday at 6:00pm. The story takes place in the fictional twin towns of Kalumbi and Makatani, somewhere in the heart of Tanzania. Wahapahapa’s main characters are a group of musicians, the “Homeboys”, and music is a focal point of the story, with leading Tanzanian musicians appearing in every episode. The program explores the impact of HIV/ AIDS on young people through thelives of the band members, their families and friends.

Wahapahapa producers have brought together the best Tanzanian writers, producers, actors and musicians to produce a powerful dramatic story about the struggles and sorrows, hopes and dreams of young people living in Tanzania today.

Wahapahapa airs every Monday at 6:00pm on Radio Free Africa and Radio One.
